About The Position

Life Scan is a nationally recognized medical practice providing prevention-based screenings, physicals, and fitness evaluations for firefighters and police officers. The Nurse Practitioner conducts physicals and screening exams, reviews and summarizes test results, and provides education and recommendations for abnormalities. The role does not involve diagnosing or treating patients. Regular regional travel and national travel to designated fire and police department locations are required. The position is on the road, and the Nurse Practitioner must have a vehicle capable of carrying the necessary equipment. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Requirements

• Active state APRN license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Strong technical skills, including MS Office, imaging software, and EMR platforms.
• Professionalism and compassion.
• Have a vehicle capable of holding and carrying the required equipment.
• Willingness to travel regularly regionally and nationally to designated fire and police department locations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct head-to-toe physicals.
• Perform vision and hearing screening exams.
• Summarize test results, including labs, fitness evaluations, and ultrasound results.
• Provide guidance and recommendations regarding abnormalities, including education and referral to a primary care provider when needed; do not diagnose or treat.
• Interpret labs and provide dietary recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
