About The Position

We are seeking healthcare professionals committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a correctional health setting. This role offers the opportunity to serve individuals involved in the criminal justice system—an often underserved and medically vulnerable population—while helping address health disparities and improve community health outcomes. Our care model is collaborative and team-oriented, with physicians working closely alongside nurses, behavioral health clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, comprehensive care. This position offers meaningful, mission-driven work and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of a vulnerable population. This position is located inside a prison facility and works in close contact with adults in custody in the institution setting. The purpose of this job is primary care and medical management of the adults in custody, including examination, diagnosis, treatment, and performance of specialized procedures that are within scope of practice of the licensed nurse practitioner, with referral to a physician when determination is made that illness or treatment is beyond the scope of practice. Treatment is provided in a setting that ranges from ambulatory or clinic care to infirmary or the Specialist Management Unit.
