About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice RN working in collaboration with physicians to deliver health care services to meet the specialized physiologic and psychological needs of patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions. The NP delivers health care services to a population of patients within their scope of certification and education. Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• Mississippi State Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required.
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Geriatric Nurse Practitioner certification required.
• Must complete and maintain BCLS upon hire and/or transfer.
• Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
• Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
• Keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities.
• Superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required.
• Ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations.
• Superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of advance nursing experience preferred.
• If works in Psychiatric Services, previous experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in an inpatient and outpatient setting preferred.
• If works in Pediatrics, Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) preferred.
