The Nurse Practitioner - Wound Clinic will assess needs, incorporate plans, and provide direct patient care for patients in the Grand River Health Clinic settings. This role involves examining patients, performing comprehensive physical examinations, and compiling and documenting patient medical data, including health history, progress notes, and results of examinations and treatment plans. The practitioner will take actions to ensure proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Responsibilities may include prescribing medications, ordering diagnostic tests, and advising patients about continuing care. The role requires collaboration with Physicians and other interdisciplinary members of care teams, ordering, interpreting, and recording results of clinical tests, and conducting patient education. Additionally, the position involves participating in quality assurance planning, initiatives, and improvement projects, attending meetings, and serving on committees. The role relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and functions under the direction of an assigned supervising Physician.

Requirements

  • Requires active Colorado licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in area of specialty based on licensure and Colorado authority for advanced practice.
  • American Heart Association ACLS and PALS certifications must be required within 6 months of hire depending on admitting privileges.
  • Required certifications and licensures must be maintained in current status throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 to 5 years working experience in a clinical setting in a similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Orders, interprets and records results of a variety of clinical tests and reports results to other Providers and departments as needed.
  • Conducts patient education.
  • Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment.
  • Participates in quality assurance planning, initiatives and improvement projects.
  • Attends various meetings and serves on committees as assigned.
  • Functions under the direction of assigned supervising Physician.
  • Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
