About The Position

The Division of Vascular Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, within the Smidt Heart Institute, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their multidisciplinary Vascular Surgery group. This division provides comprehensive evaluation and management for patients with vascular disease, emphasizing patient-centered care, collaboration, and continuity throughout the surgical patient experience. The NP will collaborate with vascular surgeons and other healthcare team members while also managing patients independently within their scope of practice. This role is primarily outpatient-focused but may expand to include inpatient vascular surgery care and rounding as the program develops.

Requirements

  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a relevant specialty (e.g., Adult-Gerontology, Family).
  • DEA "X" waiver to prescribe buprenorphine (if applicable for pain management).
  • DEA registration number.
  • Furnishing Number.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in vascular surgery or a related surgical specialty.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in vascular surgery.
  • Experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with multiple vascular surgeons and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Independently manage appropriate patients within their scope of practice.
  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and management for patients with vascular disease.
  • Ensure patient-centered care, cooperative efforts, and continuity during the surgical patient experience.
  • Potentially expand to inpatient vascular surgery care and rounding as the program evolves.
