About The Position

We are actively seeking an experienced and driven Nurse Practitioner to fill a full-time Nocturnist role within our high-acuity Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team at one of the Rocky Mountain region’s premier Level II trauma centers. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for providing comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services during overnight shifts (7 PM to 7 AM).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification from either ANCC or AANPCB.
  • Must provide the most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days, active) – no exemptions allowed.
  • Unrestricted Colorado licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Eligibility for DEA registration and Medicare/Medicaid provider status is mandatory.
  • No sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA are permissible.
  • Current BLS certification (to be noted in “Additional Submission Details” field).
  • Minimum of 2 years of trauma surgery experience or completion of a surgical fellowship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating individualized treatment plans.
  • Managing a diverse patient population, including those undergoing trauma and emergency general surgery, across various inpatient settings.
  • Assisting trauma surgeons with procedural interventions and ongoing patient management, demonstrating the ability to function autonomously while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Documenting all patient interactions and care delivered through the Epic EMR system.
  • Adhering to medical staff bylaws and fulfilling privileging processes.
  • Upholding high standards of patient safety and quality performance.
  • Engaging in mentorship opportunities, leadership development, and continual professional education.
