About The Position

This position is for a Nurse Practitioner in Specialty Care within the Conventional Regional setting, specifically for the GCMG Managed Scotland Physician Network - Surgical Services at Scotland Memorial Scotland Surgical in Laurinburg. The role is full-time, benefits-eligible, with a 401k plan and a standard 40-hour work week. The Nurse Practitioner will perform initial and periodic medical history and physical examinations, daily assessments, and record findings. They will also perform a wide range of surgical and/or medical procedures, write prescriptions, administer medications, and order/interpret lab and radiology exams. The role involves determining patient treatment plans, documenting all patient encounters, and acting as a patient advocate. Additionally, the Nurse Practitioner will assess their own practice needs and those of other APPs, assist in developing clinical policies, serve as a liaison to physicians and staff, and coordinate annual performance reviews for assigned APPs, ensuring compliance with licensure and credentialing. They will also attend and represent APPs in various committees and meetings.

Requirements

  • Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
  • Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state one works.
  • 5 years experience required in specific specialty.
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC required.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
  • Nurse Practitioner Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.

Nice To Haves

  • management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC board certification preferred based population served.

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.
  • Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care.
  • Performs a wide range of surgical and/or medical procedures.
  • Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications.
  • Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations.
  • Determines treatment plan for patient.
  • Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record.
  • Acts as a patient advocate for the population served.
  • Assesses own practice needs, as well as those of the other APPs of the health care team, and develops methods to meet those needs.
  • Assists in the review and development of clinical and operational policies and procedures in the specialty of practice.
  • Serves as a liaison to collaborating physicians, patients, nurses, staff and others as necessary.
  • Coordinates annual performance reviews in collaboration with assigned supervising physicians.
  • Assures compliance with all aspects of licensure and credentialing for assigned APPs.
  • Attends, participates, contributes to and represents APPs in the assigned areas of responsibility on group/practice, facility or system-wide committees and/or meetings.
