About The Position

UMass Memorial Medical Group seeks a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a focus in Psychiatry to join our growing team. Key Highlights: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of patients, including history-taking, mental status exams, and diagnostic assessments. Diagnose a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, and addiction-related disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, focusing on pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. In collaboration with the consulting provider, provide medication recommendations and ongoing medication management, monitor therapeutic response and side effects, and adjust treatment plans as appropriate. Participate in daily treatment team meetings, providing input on patient care and treatment progress. Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Support patients and families with education on psychiatric conditions, medication regimens, and recovery strategies. Provide ongoing management of patients, ensuring continuity of care through discharge planning and follow-up.

Requirements

  • A Masters degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is required.
  • Eligible or current Massachusetts license, with national certification (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA, as applicable)
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration are required.
