About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking a talented and caring Nurse Practitioner to join a dedicated multidisciplinary group. This role will serve a vital function in the Department of Psychiatry & Psychology at Mayo Clinic Health System, providing supplemental overnight coverage to the inpatient psychiatric units in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Mankato, Minnesota; and Albert Lea, Minnesota. The position is remote, with a psychiatrist available to comply with licensing requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate interest and comfort in working with patients with psychiatric illness. During the selection process, candidates may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview.

Requirements

New Grads will not be considered at this time.
2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner.
Masters or Doctorate-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
Current Wisconsin and Minnesota RN and APRN licenses and certifications.
Current BLS certification
Eligible for DEA registration.
Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs.
Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.

Nice To Haves

Preference given to candidates with a PMHNP (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification).

Responsibilities

Reviewing referrals for admission for acceptance or denial
Placing admission orders
Responding to on-call questions
Managing existing inpatients
Working as an integral team member of a multidisciplinary team with social work, nursing, advanced practice providers, and physicians
