About The Position
Mayo Clinic is seeking a talented and caring Nurse Practitioner for a full-time, 1.0 FTE opportunity to join a dedicated multidisciplinary group. The successful candidate will serve a vital function in the Department of Psychiatry & Psychology at Mayo Clinic Health System providing overnight coverage to the inpatient psychiatric units in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Mankato, Minnesota; and Albert Lea, Minnesota. This nocturnist position will have a seven-on/seven-off hospitalist-style schedule and is a remote position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate interest and comfort working with patients with psychiatric illness.
Requirements
- New Grads will not be considered at this time.
- 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner.
- Masters or Doctorate-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Wisconsin and Minnesota RN and APRN licenses and certifications.
- Current BLS certification.
- Eligible for DEA registration.
- Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs.
- Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.

Responsibilities
- Reviewing referrals for admission for acceptance or denial
- Placing admission orders
- Responding to on-call questions
- Managing existing inpatients
- Working as an integral team member of a multidisciplinary team encompassing nursing staff, social services, and physicians
