About The Position

Horizon is currently looking for preceptor students for the Fall 2026 Semester! With Horizon you have the opportunity to gain practical experience in your field of study. Horizon offers opportunities in a variety of settings that include our outpatient clinics, residential facilities, and inpatient/detox facility. You will get to learn from our very own providers. Direct experience opportunities may include, but are not limited to: Observe and assist initial psychiatric examinations for individuals admitted to mental health, rehabilitation and recovery programs and provide follow up medication management services. Observe and participate in clinical case conference and case reviews while working with a multidisciplinary team to provide care to patients. Assist with treatment planning and the prescribing of psychotropic and/or addiction medication. Demonstrate clinical knowledge, communication and collaboration.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a NP (Nurse Practitioner) program is required
• You will not be eligible if you have already completed your program or if you are not enrolled in the program
• This internship experience must also be a requirement of your degree in order to participate
• Constant and continuous access to the email you use
