About The Position

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a PRN Pre-Anesthesia Testing/Perioperative Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join their team to meet the growing demands for services in Lafayette, Indiana. This position is based at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, joining a group of seasoned providers covering a broad range of patients. Requirements

• Master's Degree
• Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Nationally Recognized Certification
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Perform patient interviewing & support decision-making process for pre-operative patients in PAT clinic in collaboration with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, nursing staff & primary surgeons
• Communicate with surgeon or primary care physician any abnormality or recommendation for additional testing as deemed medically necessary prior to and/or after treatment
• Assess, plan & evaluate medical care in collaboration with anesthesiologist
• Perform physical examination & health history; order & review laboratory work, chest x-rays & ECG's & institute treatment for abnormalities in collaboration with responsible physician
• Prescribe medications during pre-operative phase in collaboration with responsible physician
• Act as liaison between primary physician, surgeon & anesthesiologist
