About The Position

The University of Rochester's Orthopaedic / Sports Division is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide high-quality outpatient care. This role involves working collaboratively with a healthcare team to treat patients with traumatic and degenerative shoulder and elbow conditions, those requiring shoulder reconstruction and replacement, and individuals with sports and work-related injuries. The position requires strong communication and clinical skills, and the ability to participate in the education of learners.

Requirements

• Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner (for NP role)
• Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing (for NP role)
• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing (for NP role)
• Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner (for NP role)
• Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program (for PA role)
• Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing (for PA role)
• Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (for PA role)
• Demonstrate clinical competence
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills
• Computer competence
• Active desire to learn
• Must be eligible for billing

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with all members of the health care team to provide high quality (outpatient) care to patients with traumatic and degenerative shoulder and elbow conditions, patients requiring shoulder reconstruction and replacement, and sports and work related injuries.
• Participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
