About The Position

The Wilmot Cancer Institute is seeking a proactive, highly organized clinician with excellent communication and teamwork skills to join their interdisciplinary team. This part-time position focuses on providing care to oncology patients, specifically those with multiple myeloma, in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. The role requires the ability to shift priorities and involves direct patient care, managing acute illnesses and chronic symptoms, and providing comprehensive follow-up care. Responsibilities also include assisting with coordination of services, patient/family education, clinical trial recruitment, participant enrollment, and study protocol monitoring. There are opportunities to develop proficiency in procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and to work closely with the cellular therapy team.

Requirements

  • NYS eligible for NP certification
  • Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner (for NPs)
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing (for NPs)
  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing (for NPs)
  • Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner (for NPs)
  • Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program (for PAs)
  • Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing (for PAs)
  • Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (for PAs)
  • Demonstrate clinical competence
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills
  • Computer competence
  • Active desire to learn
