About The Position
Piedmont is recruiting an advanced practice provider for its wound care team at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens, Georgia. This is a full-time, Monday-through-Friday position with no call responsibilities. The provider will care for a variety of wound care and hyperbaric oxygen patients, primarily in inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes providing medical services to individuals, families, and groups; supporting health promotion and acute and chronic disease management; and augmenting physicians’ ability to provide medical services.
Requirements
- Be licensed as a nurse and approved to practice as a nurse practitioner by the State of Georgia.
- Hold national certification.
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years of experience working as a nurse practitioner in a wound care setting; preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical services for diabetic ulcers, skin tears, non-healing surgical wounds, vascular insufficiencies, wound grafts, and other wound care or hyperbaric oxygen needs.
- Emphasize health promotion and acute and chronic disease management.
- Augment a physician’s ability to provide medical services to patients.
- Collect and document data; conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations; and provide direct patient care.
- Provide direct oversight of patients undergoing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
