About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a motivated, flexible, and independent Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Division of Vascular Surgery. This full-time position involves the evaluation and management of both outpatients and inpatients referred for vascular surgery care. The role requires collaboration with faculty and other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and includes participation in the educational program for surgical residents and nursing staff. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical and communication skills, a strong desire to learn, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming culture.

Requirements

• Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner (for NPs) or completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program (for PAs).
• Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing (for NPs).
• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing (for NPs).
• Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing (for PAs).
• Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner (for NPs).
• Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (for PAs).
• Excellent clinical and communication skills.
• Motivated, flexible, and independent.
• Active desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage outpatients and inpatients referred for vascular surgery care.
• Collaborate with faculty and APPs from the Division of Vascular Surgery.
• Participate in the educational program for surgical residents and nursing staff.
• Demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, and customer relation skills.
• Exhibit computer competence.
• Participate in the education of learners (students and new employees) through clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing, and skill training.
