Wound Care- Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant- Piedmont Athens
About The Position
Piedmont is recruiting an advanced practice provider to join the wound care team at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens, Georgia. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with no call responsibilities. The provider will care for a variety of wound care and hyperbaric oxygen patients, primarily in inpatient and outpatient settings. The role provides medical services to individuals, families, and groups, emphasizing health promotion and acute and chronic disease management. The provider augments physicians’ ability to deliver medical services and has direct oversight of patients undergoing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the State of Georgia.
- National certification.
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in a wound care setting; this qualification is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical services for patients with diabetic ulcers, skin tears, non-healing surgical wounds, vascular insufficiencies, wound grafts, and other wound care or hyperbaric oxygen needs.
- Emphasize health promotion and acute and chronic disease management.
- Augment a physician’s ability to provide medical services to patients.
- Collect and document data.
- Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations.
- Provide direct patient care services.
- Provide direct oversight of patients undergoing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
