Since its inception in 1978, BRCA has evolved into the nation's most extensive burn system, partnering with hospitals across the country to provide a continuum of care from initial injury through long-term rehabilitation. BRCA provides quality burn, hand, wound, and reconstructive care through new facilities, partnerships, and advancements. Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (with First Assist) to join its team of dedicated professionals in the critical care, trauma, and burn arenas. Candidates must be willing to travel as needed and participate in staff education.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Successful completion of PANCE.
  • Maintain NCCPA Certification.
  • Licensure in state practicing.
  • First Assist required for Nurse Practitioners.

Responsibilities

  • Focus is on the reconstructive care of patients.
  • Patient management in the inpatient hospital and outpatient clinic.
  • Team approach and collaborative environment.
  • Perform patient history and physicals.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays and provide diagnosis.
  • Perform medical treatment and diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures.
  • 1st or 2nd assist during surgery, as required by supervising physician and/or training.
  • Instruct and counsel patients on treatment plans.
  • Preoperative and postoperative care.
  • Medication prescribing may also be necessary depending on state/facility.
