About The Position

West Coast Wound & Skin Care is a mobile wound care company that provides services to patients in their homes and skilled nursing facilities. The organization focuses on treating patients’ overall health, emphasizes communication with partner agencies, and provides training and continuing education to its medical team. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide advanced wound care to patients in the Farmington, New Mexico area, traveling locally to patients’ homes and facilities. Candidates must be licensed as an NP or PA in New Mexico and willing and able to drive to patient locations. No prior experience is needed; extensive training and 24/7 support are provided. This is a part-time, 1099 role for two days per week.

Requirements

Current New Mexico state license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
CPR certification.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license and at least the state-required liability auto insurance.
Ability and willingness to travel locally to patient homes and facilities in the Farmington area.

Responsibilities

Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to best treat patients.
Perform wound care procedures as appropriate for each patient's plan of care.
Define and document patient diagnoses.
Ensure patients are satisfied with their care.
Provide patient education and management.
Safely debride wounds using various methods during patient visits.
Apply topical wound care and other wound management products.
Document findings and the course of treatment in patient charts, including follow-up notes.
