About The Position

Seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our UR Cardiac Care team serving the Geneseo and Dansville communities. This is an independent APP position with outpatient clinical responsibilities across our Geneseo and Dansville offices as well as inpatient/hospital consultation duties at Noyes Memorial Hospital as needed. This position is 50:50 Geneseo and Dansville offices.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current New York State licensure and national board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
  • BLS/ACLS certification required.
  • Comfort with autonomous practice in a rural setting with physician collaboration and support.
  • Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
  • Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
  • NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn.
  • The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiology or acute care experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions in the outpatient setting, including hypertension, dyslipidemia, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular disease, and coronary artery disease.
  • Perform inpatient cardiology consultations as needed at Noyes Memorial Hospital in collaboration with attending cardiologist
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac monitors.
  • Collaborate closely with supervising/collaborating cardiologists, fellow APPs, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Provide patient and family education on disease management, lifestyle modification, and medication adherence.
  • Participate in care coordination with primary care providers and specialists across the region.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
