About The Position

KidsStreet Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing team in Montgomery, AL. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care to help patients feel better quickly, offering services such as urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for APPs early in their careers, including new graduates. The company provides comprehensive onboarding, training shifts with experienced providers, a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course, and an on-call NP/PA for clinical decision-making support. This role allows for the utilization of the full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric individuals, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The position emphasizes leadership, with NPs/PAs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and medical assistants. A significant aspect of the role involves supporting families in the community by providing accessible care, accepting Medicaid, and being open 362 days a year to avoid costly ER visits. The position is described as a "rocket ship" for career growth, with a two-year commitment expected from the provider.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification or Physician Assistant certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat common illnesses such as cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures including toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture wounds.
  • Apply splints.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by a Radiologist).
  • Manage general dermatology issues.
  • Address general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Apply general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine consultations.
