Wound Healing Center – Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
About The Position
A wonderful opportunity exists for a highly motivated/independent nurse practitioner or physician assistant looking for a position in an outpatient wound healing center. This wound healing center maintains collaborative practice within Plastic Surgery and ID Physicians but works with many different services to meet patient needs. As an autonomous provider, the APP will bill directly for services. This individual should possess excellent communication, organizational skills, teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to think critically. There is financial support for attending CME accredited conferences both nationally and regionally. Potential for professional growth in hospital committees, care pathways and research.
Requirements
- Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner (for NPs)
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing (for NPs)
- Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing (for NPs)
- Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner (for NPs)
- Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program (for PAs)
- Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing (for PAs)
- Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (for PAs)
- Demonstrate clinical competence
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills
- Computer competence
- Active desire to learn
Nice To Haves
- WOCN certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Triage and treat complex acute and chronic wounds
- Communicate with referring providers and primary care providers
- Manage and oversee Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments
- Completion of Hyperbaric Oxygen Team Training within 12 months of hire
- Bill directly for services
- Participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training
