About The Position

This role involves providing comprehensive primary care services to patients, including annual health examinations, routine follow-ups, and treatment of acute and chronic medical problems. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will also assist in patient care, provide diagnostic and therapeutic services, initiate consultations and referrals, and promote cooperation and open communication within the practice. Additionally, the role includes providing clinical training to staff, interacting with external healthcare agencies, and counseling patients. A strong emphasis is placed on service excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher (for NP)
  • Currently licensed as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (for NP)
  • US Department of Justice DEA Registration (required if prescribing)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (obtain within 30 days of position start)
  • Masters from a program accredited by the ARC-PA (for PA)
  • Currently licensed as a Physician’s Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (for PA)

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years’ experience as Nurse Practitioner (preferred)
  • 2 years’ experience as a Physician Assistant (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide annual health examinations, routine follow-up and evaluation, and treatment of acute and chronic medical problems of patients.
  • Assist in care of specific patients, provide diagnostic assessment and therapeutic services to ill or injured patients, initiate and arrange consultations and referrals.
  • Promote cooperation and develop open lines of communication with patients, employees, physicians, administrators and other personnel within and outside the practice.
  • Provide clinical training and education to clinical MACC staff.
  • Interact with staff of Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice and other private agencies to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Treat and counsel patients in medical office.
  • Communicate with out-patients.
  • Perform all responsibilities/duties required by the position, and practice to assure that the needs of the patient is served.
  • Perform other work related duties as requested/directed.
  • Consistently provide service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
  • Challenge current working practices, identify process improvement opportunities and present recommendations and solutions to management.
