About The Position

Corewell Health South is seeking an additional Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our inpatient psychiatric services team in St. Joseph, Michigan. The team currently consists of two full-time psychiatrists and one Advanced Practitioner. Services include inpatient psychiatric care and consultation liaison services to medical floors and the Emergency Department. Advanced Practitioners work a block-style schedule, alternating between one week on and one week off. The inpatient behavioral health unit is a 26-bed facility, with a newly renovated unit scheduled for completion in 2027. A multi-disciplinary treatment team is in place. Night call coverage is rotated among the psychiatrists and PRN coverage. Night call is provided by phone only, with face-to-face coverage handled by Medical physicians overnight. Weekend rounding involves one psychiatrist and either a psychiatric advanced practice provider or another psychiatrist, ensuring every patient is seen daily. The facility utilizes Epic EMR.

Requirements

• 3 years of relevant experience.
• Current, relevant clinical experience.
• Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role.
• LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
• LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 90 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross If required by specialty or stress test performed 90 Days required.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required.
• CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required.
