About The Position

Corewell Health South is seeking an additional Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our inpatient psychiatric services team in St. Joseph, Michigan. The team currently consists of two full-time psychiatrists and one Advanced Practitioner. The role involves providing inpatient psychiatric services and consultation liaison services to medical floors and the Emergency Department. Advanced Practitioners work a block-style schedule, alternating between a week on and a week off. The inpatient unit is a 26-bed facility, with a newly renovated unit planned for 2027. It operates with a multi-disciplinary treatment team. Night call coverage is phone-only and rotated among psychiatrists and PRN coverage, with face-to-face coverage provided by Medical Physicians overnight. Weekend rounding includes one psychiatrist and either a psychiatric advanced practice provider or another psychiatrist, ensuring every patient is seen daily. The unit utilizes Epic EMR.

Requirements

• 3 years of current, relevant clinical experience.
• Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role.
• LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan Upon Hire.
• LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan Upon Hire.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC (if required by specialty or stress test performed) within 90 days.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA (if required by specialty or stress test performed) within 120 days.
• CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA Upon Hire.
