About The Position

Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 4-10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM- 5:00 PM with rotating weekends. Be part of something remarkable As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to: Care for pediatric cardiac patients on the inpatient teams and consults including the Peds CVICU and Neonatal ICU Participate in daily rounding and collaborate with attendings and consulting team to adjust plans of care Conduct comprehensive daily physical assessments Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and imaging studies Order and prescribe appropriate medications Develop discharge plans and provide education UW Health’s Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Advisory Council ensures that your voices are heard. This unique advisory council serves to promote, support, advocate and advise on APP practice and provide expertise and counsel on APP roles across the organization. Requirements

  • Minimum - If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program
  • Minimum - If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.
  • Minimum - If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin AND Active board certification as a NP in the following: Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Practice.
  • Minimum - If Physician Assistant: Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND Active PA board certification.
  • All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
  • CPR certification and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP).

Responsibilities
