About The Position

The GI Division at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their dynamic, ambulatory, academic gastroenterology practice in Boston. This role involves providing team-based care and ensuring continuity for patients with general GI conditions, working under the supervision of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager and faculty of the General GI team. The APP will be clinically based, with a schedule of 8 clinical sessions and 1 hour of administrative time per clinical session. Collaboration with physicians, APPs, nurses, medical assistants, and patient care coordinators is essential for direct patient care delivery. The APP will manage new, urgent, and follow-up visits for patients with various GI diseases and disorders.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Nursing/Physician Assistant
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN-NP - State License] or Physician Assistant licensure in MA.
Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of related APP experience.
0-1 year of experience as an NP/PA preferred.

Responsibilities

Play an important team role with care delivery and continuity for patients with general GI conditions.
Deliver direct patient care in collaboration with physicians, APPs, nurses, medical assistants, and patient care coordinators.
Participate in a team-based care approach to see patients diagnosed with various GI disease and disorders.
Be responsible for new, urgent and follow-up visits.
