About The Position

The GI Division at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join their dynamic, ambulatory, academic gastroenterology practice in Boston. This role operates under the supervision of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager and faculty of the General GI team. The APP will be integral to care delivery and continuity for patients with general GI conditions, working within a team-based approach alongside physicians, other APPs, nurses, medical assistants, and patient care coordinators. Responsibilities include seeing new, urgent, and follow-up visits for patients diagnosed with various GI diseases and disorders. The position is clinically based with a schedule of 8 clinical sessions per week, each with one hour of administrative time. This is a Monday-Friday day shift position.

Requirements

Master's Degree Nursing/Physician Assistant required
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN-NP - State License] - or Physician Assistant licensure in MA.
Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of related APP experience.

Responsibilities
