About The Position

Lone Star Clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to help grow and develop the Family Practice/Primary Care side of our established clinic in Sulphur Springs, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity for a provider who enjoys building relationships with patients and wants to play an important role in the growth of a primary care practice. You’ll join an established clinical team that currently includes a General Surgeon, ultrasound technician, two Medical Assistants, and three office staff members. The ideal candidate has a background in Family Practice or Primary Care, is confident working with a broad patient population, and is comfortable practicing with a high degree of autonomy. We prefer candidates with at least two years of experience, although we are open to considering an exceptional candidate with less experience. As the Family Practice side of the clinic grows, the provider can expect to build toward an average patient volume of approximately 20–25 patients per day.

Requirements

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) eligible to practice in Texas
  • Family Practice or Primary Care experience strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of clinical experience preferred, although the practice is open to the right candidate
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Comfortable independently evaluating and managing a broad range of primary care conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient-centered approach with an interest in developing long-term patient relationships
  • Highly organized, dependable, and collaborative

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care and family medicine services to patients
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform routine physicals, wellness visits, and preventive care
  • Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
  • Develop individualized treatment and care plans
  • Prescribe medications and manage ongoing medication needs within scope of practice
  • Educate patients on preventive health, disease management, lifestyle changes, and treatment plans
  • Monitor and manage common chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialists when appropriate
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Collaborate with the physician and clinical support team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Help establish and grow the clinic's Family Practice patient population
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with patients and families in the community
