About The Position

University of Toledo Physicians (UTP) is seeking Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our expanding General Cardiology and Electrophysiology (EP) service line. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice comprehensive cardiovascular care while gaining exposure to electrophysiology within a collaborative, academic medical environment that values teamwork, education, and tradition. As a member of the Division of Cardiology, you will provide high-quality inpatient care to patients with a wide spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, including arrhythmias and cardiac device management. You will work closely with a collegial team of physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff contributing to both clinical excellence and medical education.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Master’s degree in the appropriate field
  • State of Ohio licensure as a Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Acute Care certification required for Nurse Practitioners
  • Certificate of Authority (COA) from the Ohio Board of Nursing or Ohio State Medical Board
  • BLS certification
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Certificate to Prescribe and DEA registration
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a General Cardiology setting

Nice To Haves

  • Electrophysiology experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for general cardiology and electrophysiology patients.
  • Conduct inpatient consultations, daily rounding, and ongoing patient management.
  • Lead outpatient clinic visits including new evaluations, follow-ups, and device checks.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, residents, and fellows in an academic environment.
  • Participate in case discussions, patient education, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Training available for APPs seeking to grow their electrophysiology skillset.
