About The Position

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Bone Marrow team at Main Hospital. This role involves the direct care and follow-up of patients, delivered in inpatient and hospital-outpatient areas. The position requires collaboration with an attending physician and encompasses clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and research. Advanced Practice Providers in this role may need acute/critical care education and certification, determined by the scope of practice. The clinical duties will involve managing a cohort of high acuity patients, potentially utilizing invasive interventions and procedures for physiologic stability. The role also includes off-shift responsibilities, with a rotation schedule that may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on clinical needs.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience practicing as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner required
Master's Degree Nursing Required
Bachelor's Degree - Physician Assistant Required
Ability to work in an inter-professional team setting with multiple responsibilities.
Ability to use computer and electronic medical records effectively.
Basic use of a computer (mouse, keyboard, printer, USB ports).
Basic use of Microsoft Office (Word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and Skype).
Web browsing, intranet search, document access.
Use of shared network file space.
Basic use of patient facing technology. (e.g. IV pumps, point of care devices, CR monitors).
Navigation and use of clinical communication systems.

Responsibilities

Assesses the complex acute, critical and chronically ill patient for urgent and emergent conditions.
Uses relevant data to evaluate for physiologic instability and formulates a plan of care.
