About The Position

Under the guidance of the UCSF Department of Nursing, this NP position is dedicated to the Prepare Clinic, offering comprehensive care for a specified patient population. The role involves managing chronic stable medical conditions, following specialty protocols, and providing acute or critical care. The NP will work across various UCSF Health locations, ensuring quality standards and self-direction in their practice.

Requirements

  • Previous NP experience (Primary care, surgical, perioperative, critical care, and acute care) at least for 2 years.
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
  • Excellent verbal skills
  • Credentialed as a Nurse Practitioner at UCSF
  • Completed a BRN recognized graduate Master’s degree program as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Skilled in physical and psychosocial assessment of families and children from infancy through adolescence
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other healthcare providers
  • Able to or already be paneled with Medicare and Medicaid with CMS and in turn eligible for CCS paneling as appropriate for Pediatric environments
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction
  • California Nurse Practitioner (NP) License without restriction
  • California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number
  • NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role FNP-C, FNP-BC, CPNP-AC, CPNP-PC.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • 3+ years of NP experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage chronic stable medical conditions and specialty protocols, such as chemotherapy, for pediatric patients.
  • Provide acute and critical care, as well as routine medical and surgical procedures, within approved standardized procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the UCSF Department of Nursing and Medical Staff to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Evidencing self-direction and accountability in developing and refining clinical practice within the Prepare Clinic.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care and quality across all UCSF medical center locations.
  • Complete credentialing and approval of standardized procedures through the Medical Staff Services Office prior to commencing work.
  • Stay updated with the latest medical advancements and best practices in pediatric care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience, from initial assessment to discharge.
