About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant position is part of the JobCare/Urgent Care Department and is a contingent role scheduled to work on an as-needed basis to support departmental staffing needs. Available shifts are primarily Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with occasional weekend coverage as needed. This position does not have any holiday work responsibilities. This role provides advanced patient care under the general supervision of a physician, focusing on evaluating, treating, and managing patients with acute and chronic conditions while ensuring a seamless and efficient care experience.

Requirements

Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Current license from the State Board of Nursing or Ohio State Medical Board to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Professional demeanor, initiative, and flexibility to meet patient care needs

Nice To Haves

Experience in patient counseling and education preferred

Responsibilities

Plan, direct, and evaluate patient care in the JobCare/Urgent Care setting
Examine and treat chronic and acute illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other conditions
Order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures as applicable
Write prescriptions and perform office procedures within scope of practice and protocols
Refer patients to physicians when necessary
Provide guidance and directions to nursing and ancillary staff to ensure quality care
Maintain adherence to established nursing and medical standards, procedures, and practices
Promote professionalism, patient safety, and high-quality patient care
