About The Position

Medcor is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an employer-based clinic in Ankeny, IA. This PRN (as needed) day shift position (6 AM - 2:30 PM) is located in a manufacturing facility, focusing on occupational health and acute/episodic care. It is not a full-time job and offers no guaranteed hours, but invites applications from those available for occasional shifts. The NP/PA will deliver primary clinical care in an occupational and urgent care health clinic, collaborating with Medcor's medical and operational leadership, other advocates, and client contacts. Services include diagnosis and treatment of workers' compensation injuries and illnesses, urgent care, surveillance and regulatory exams, and preventative services. The position works closely with a Medcor employed oversight physician and Medcor Clinical Affairs and Operations.

Requirements

valid unrestricted licensure
current DEA & BLS certifications
DOT certification (may be obtained within 6 months of hire)
strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR software
positive and outgoing personality, and be a collaborative team player
excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients, clients and colleagues
willing to go above and beyond to give excellent customer service
comfortable working in an on-site clinic environment
occupational health experience

Provide superior clinical care and customer service to Medcor 's client and employees
Treat injuries and illnesses following Evidence Based Medicine standards
Pre-placement exams
Medical surveillance
DOT examinations
Return to work evaluations for non-work and work related injuries
Build and maintain internal team relationships
Collaborate with client professionals in health, safety and environmental practices
Collaborate with client human resources and benefits professionals on clinical issues
Support client 's wellness and preventative programs
Document and manage information using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
Patient education regarding medical conditions and treatment options
Patient coaching regarding healthy behaviors
