Medical Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Breast Oncology Care Team in a collaborative, academically rich outpatient practice. The NP or PA will care for patients with breast cancer across the continuum of disease and treatment as an integral member of the adult Medical Oncology outpatient practice, partnering with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, allied health colleagues, and multidisciplinary specialists. The provider will see patients at initial consultation in collaboration with an oncologist, independently follow established patients, order and manage systemic, curative, palliative, and supportive therapies, and guide patients through complex treatment plans. Care includes managing treatment-related toxicities and symptom burden, addressing survivorship needs, assessing disease, supporting clinical trial care, and providing end-of-life support. The practice offers exposure to novel systemic and targeted therapies, immunotherapy-based approaches, clinical trials, and precision oncology strategies. The NP or PA will work within a focused Breast Oncology Care Team consisting of five collaborative teams of physicians, NPs, PAs, RNs, pharmacists, and allied health professionals. The Breast group collaborates with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care, genetics, pathology, radiology, and other multidisciplinary teams. The provider will support continuity of care and timely treatment decisions, serve as a clinical resource for nursing and allied health colleagues, and coordinate care across disciplines. After becoming established in breast oncology, interested candidates may have an opportunity to cross-train in integrative oncology, balanced with practice needs. The Department of Oncology and breast tumor group also support mentoring NPs and PAs in academic, research, quality improvement, and educational pursuits.
