The Primary Care clinical team at Children's Mercy Broadway provides comprehensive, family-centered care to children from birth through adolescence. Working within a multidisciplinary team that includes pediatricians, nurse practitioners, specialists, social workers, care coordinators, dietitians, and allied health professionals, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers preventive, acute, and chronic care within a pediatric medical home model. The role offers opportunities to build long-term relationships with patients and families, develop individualized care plans, and contribute to children's health and well-being in the Kansas City community. The APP provides comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing care addressing patients’ and families’ physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs within the collaborative practice agreement. With support and direction from an experienced APP mentor, the APP also participates in beginning leadership, evidence-based practice or research, and organizational development activities. Children’s Mercy emphasizes kindness, curiosity, inclusion, teamwork, and integrity, and seeks to create a workplace that reflects the community it serves. Seasonal influenza vaccination is a condition of employment. New employees must be willing to receive MMR and varicella vaccinations if found non-immune, and/or provide evidence of Tdap vaccination since 2005. Immunization records are required if selected; medical and religious exemptions may be discussed with Human Resources.
