The Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) is responsible for providing healthcare services to patients under the supervision of, and/or in collaboration with, the attending physician. These services include, but are not limited to, medical evaluation, treatment, counseling, and referrals. This role involves diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic remediation, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescription. The Advanced Practitioner acts as a patient advocate and participates in patient satisfaction, quality, and performance improvement initiatives. The Pulmonary team at St. Luke's University Health Network offers a variety of outpatient opportunities seeing routine follow-ups, complex hospital follow-ups, and sick visits, combined with inpatient opportunities. The team consists of over 35 physicians and advanced practitioners who work closely together. Physicians are supportive of advanced practitioners, and an orientation process is in place for onboarding. Once acclimated, APs gain independence in practice while having physicians available for collaboration. APs work collaboratively daily to cover inpatient needs and function more independently in the outpatient setting. This opportunity will primarily cover inpatient and outpatient services at the St. Luke's Upper Bucks campuses, with potential for coverage at other locations as needed.
