About The Position

We are looking for a part-time Nurse Practitioner to support medical and safety efforts onsite at a client location in Berkeley, CA. The schedule involves day shifts with 1-2 days per week extending until 7:00 PM. This role is responsible for various aspects of employee care, treatment, testing, and clinic management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining positive client relationships.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in California
  • Must have unrestricted DEA license.
  • Current ACLS/BLS certifications.
  • A minimum of 3 years advanced practice experience with prior occupational medicine preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  • The ability to make independent decisions in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Take initiative on issues that arise daily.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional approach with others in job-demanding, multitasking and/or project support situations.
  • Competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Teams) and learn other software (example: SAP, Cority, etc.) as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Power Industrial Vehicle examinations in accordance with site requirements.
  • Perform Hazmat physicals in accordance with OSHA regulatory requirements.
  • Provide return-to-work clearances and adjust or modify return-to-work restrictions to ensure the employee can safely perform job duties.
  • Provides first-aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-up to occupationally ill/injured workers consistent with appropriate Workers’ Compensation standards and laws.
  • Provides first-aid or minimal incidental care and treatment and appropriate follow-up for non-occupational conditions consistent with appropriate standards for an employer on-site clinic and laws.
  • Assists onsite RN in performing regulatory testing as needed.
  • Performs effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences.
  • Provides counseling to employees on employment risk reduction initiatives as needed.
  • Maintains frequent communication with Consulting Medical Director and WorkCare Clinic manager and Program Manager-Onsite Services regarding all clinic issues and client requests.
  • Maintains employee health records and databases.
  • Computer data entry of all employee demographic and health information.
  • Responsibly handles and guards Protected Health Information.
  • Follows all applicable HIPAA laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Develops and maintains good relationships with client management, medical and safety personnel, co-workers and WorkCare supervisors and managers.
  • Communicates with appropriate client management frequently.
  • Provides timely, accurate reporting as dictated by client, WorkCare and by law.
  • Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.
