About The Position

Come work in the plastic surgery clinic with an experienced breast surgeon. Role includes working in the office as well as assisting in surgery.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
  • State Controlled Substance License (if required by State)
  • National board certification as a Family (NP-C) or (FNP-BC).
  • Additional certifications require approval from a market executive leader: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC) or (A-GNP), Adult (ANP-C)
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.
  • Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.

Nice To Haves

  • If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Experience in plastic or reconstructive surgery settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history, physical exams, and surgical assessments.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as imaging and lab work relevant to plastic surgery.
  • Assist in surgical planning and provide preoperative counseling on procedures, risks, and recovery.
  • Manage postoperative care including wound care, pain management, monitoring for complications, and scar management.
  • Provide patient education on surgical procedures, postoperative expectations, and long-term care.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records.
  • Participate in outpatient clinics, surgical procedures, and follow-up visits.
  • Support research, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives related to plastic surgery.
