Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Orthopedic Surgery (Fairfield, CA)
About The Position
Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a full-time Advance Practice Clinician (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join a collaborative Orthopedic Surgery team serving the Fairfield and Vallejo markets. This role supports clinic, operating room, and inpatient rounding functions and is designed for clinicians who value schedule variety, broad orthopedic exposure, and team-based practice. The estimated work distribution is 40% Clinic, 40% Operating Room (OR assistance), and 20% Inpatient Rounds. Practice locations include Fairfield Orthopedic Clinic (primary site), Fairfield Surgery Center, and Sutter Solano Medical Center (Vallejo) for inpatient rounding and operating room assistance. ER Call is not required for APCs. Optional paid hourly opportunities for inpatient support are available on weekends, compensated above base salary. Clinic volume is approximately 18-20 patients for a full day and 10-12 patients for a half day. The patient population spans a broad age range from pediatrics to geriatrics. The specialty scope includes General Orthopedics with exposure to sports medicine, joint care, hand surgery, and trauma related to physician call responsibilities. The technology used is Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR), with robotic-assisted surgery planned for future implementation.
Requirements
- Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (PA or NP)
- Minimum one year of clinical experience
- Comfortable with inpatient rounding
- Comfortable with OR assistance
- Comfortable with clinic-based care

- Ideal backgrounds include Emergency Medicine, inpatient medicine, or surgical care
