Aurora Medical Center Kenosha/Mount Pleasant is seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Interventional Pulmonology Program. As our program continues to expand, you'll play an integral role in building new services, developing innovative care pathways, and growing a comprehensive Lung Nodule Program that is transforming lung cancer detection and management throughout the region.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Master's or doctoral degree required.
  • Current Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Active DEA registration.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care, Interventional Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery, or related specialty.
  • New or experienced APPs with a strong interest in procedural medicine are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interventional Pulmonology Care Partner in the continued growth and development of Interventional Pulmonology services at Aurora Medical Center Kenosha/Mount Pleasant.
  • Assist with and support a variety of pulmonary procedures, including thoracentesis, chest tube management, pleural disease interventions, and other advanced pulmonary procedures.
  • Evaluate patients before and after procedures, coordinating laboratory testing, imaging studies, and treatment plans.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, formulate management plans, and provide longitudinal pulmonary care.
  • Manage patients independently while collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary specialists.
  • Coordinate care across outpatient and hospital settings to ensure seamless patient experiences.
  • Conduct daily inpatient rounds and follow hospitalized pulmonary patients.
  • Evaluate and manage pulmonary consults from inpatient units and the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and primary care providers to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate smooth care transitions and comprehensive discharge planning.
  • Serve as a key member of a growing multidisciplinary Lung Nodule Program.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with incidental and screening-detected pulmonary nodules.
  • Coordinate timely diagnostic workups, imaging surveillance, specialty referrals, and procedural interventions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary lung nodule conferences and thoracic oncology tumor boards.
  • Guide patients through complex diagnostic and treatment pathways while providing education and support.
