About The Position

The La Crosse Cardiology practice is a progressive and growing practice including general cardiology, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. The role of the general cardiology nurse practitioner/physician assistant includes providing comprehensive direct and indirect patient care including outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital service including clinic return/established patients, inpatient consultations and rounding. The position requires the ability to communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient's clinical condition; results of diagnostic studies; and patient symptomatology as appropriate. In response to changes in patient condition; accurately and effectively modifies therapeutic interventions. Our team-based care model requires strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate and work together as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current WI RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, or AGNP.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current PA certification by NCCPA.
  • Registration as a Physician Assistant by the WI Medical Examining Board.
  • Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date.
  • DEA registration required.
  • Ability to provide both inpatient and outpatient cardiology care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive direct and indirect patient care including outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital service.
  • Managing clinic return/established patients.
  • Conducting inpatient consultations and rounding.
  • Communicating with physicians regarding changes in patient's clinical condition, results of diagnostic studies, and patient symptomatology.
  • Modifying therapeutic interventions in response to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborating and working together as part of a team.
