About The Position

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant I or Nurse Practitioner I) to provide comprehensive, evidence-based cancer care within the outpatient Medical Oncology team. As GU Oncology/Melanoma experts within the care team, the NP or PA will partner to treat and manage patients in all disease stages with curative and palliative-intent therapies. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Mayo Clinic also may perform the following tasks in any authorized setting: * Obtaining patient history * Performing physical examinations * Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures * Formulating a diagnostic impression * Developing and implementing a treatment plan * Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions * Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs * Making appropriate referrals * Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication in accordance with FL state laws and department policies Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs. Assist with ongoing departmental process improvement and policy development. Other departmental or institutional committee assignments as needed. Participate in research and education. Engage in tumor board discussions.

Requirements

  • Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date
  • DEA registration required
