About The Position

The Department of Cardiovascular Diseases at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Division of Interventional Cardiology, with additional support for general cardiology. The Advanced Practice Provider will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care for a diverse patient population. This role offers the opportunity to participate in the evaluation and management of patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions while developing expertise within a dynamic interventional cardiology practice. Requirements

  • Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP, AGACNP, ACNPC-AG, AGNP, or GNP (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice (for Physician Assistant)
  • Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date
  • DEA registration required

  • Obtaining patient history
  • Performing physical examinations
  • Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Formulating a diagnostic impression
  • Developing and implementing a treatment plan
  • Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
  • Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs
  • Making appropriate referrals
  • Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication
  • Assisting in surgery
  • Performing minor procedures and surgical procedures
  • Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs.
