About The Position

The division of General Internal Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality outpatient care in a unique split-role serving both Menopause/Women’s Sexual Health and and Breast Clinics. This position offers the opportunity to care for patients across important phases of health and healing, partnering with an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered evaluation, treatment, education, and follow-up for patients with sexual health or breast concerns. Clinical time will be split with 50% in each practice. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to improving the experience and outcomes of patients navigating menopause-related concerns and breast health needs in a nationally recognized academic medical center.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current MN RN and APRN license and certification as an FNP, ANP or WHNP-BC.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the MN State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, management, and follow-up for patients in the Breast Clinic, including those with benign and malignant breast conditions including: Screening breast exams and review of imaging studies, Breast symptoms such as: new breast changes, changes in breast skin, nipple discharge, breast infection and breast pain, Benign breast disease, as well as precancerous lesions, Breast cancer risk assessment and family history of breast cancer, Breast symptoms such as: new breast changes, changes in breast skin, nipple discharge, breast infection and breast pain, Gynecomastia in men.
  • Deliver specialized care in the Women’s Sexual Health and Menopause Clinic, addressing a range of concerns from menopausal symptoms to complex sexual health issues which may include: Menopause-hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, headaches, non-restful sleep, vaginal dryness or changes in sexual function; questions about hormone therapy, bioidentical hormones, and non-hormonal treatment options, Sexual Health concerns including low libido, problems with arousal or orgasm, painful intercourse, or other issues with sexual intimacy, Cancer Survivorship-natural or treatment related menopause, hot flashes, night sweats, questions about hormone therapy or non-hormonal treatment options, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, other concerns about sexual health or body image.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives across both clinics.
  • Contribute to patient and provider education on topics relevant to breast health, sexual health, and menopause management.
