About The Position

Capital Region Women’s Care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team and provide exceptional, patient-centered gynecologic care. This role is part of Community Care Physicians, an organization dedicated to high-quality, innovative care in the Capital Region for over 35 years. The position offers a supportive, collaborative environment for professional growth and hands-on experience with various women's health procedures.

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor's or equivalent degree in physician assistant studies and successful completion of physician assistant training program approved by the NYS Department of Education or accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or a program that is determined by the Department to be the substantial equivalent of a licensure qualifying or accredited program.
  • Physician Assistant: Attainment of passing grade on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Physician Assistant: Current certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Physician Assistant: At least one year of experience as a physician assistant in ambulatory health care.
  • Physician Assistant: Interest and/or experience in women’s health.
  • Physician Assistant: Current CPR certification.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Successful completion of and graduation from a nurse practitioner education program acceptable to NYSED.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Current certification as a nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Nurse Practitioner: Successful completion of pharmacology coursework acceptable to NYSED.
  • Nurse Practitioner: At least one year of experience as a nurse practitioner in ambulatory health care.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Interest and/or experience in women’s health.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Nurse Practitioner: Three years of professional nursing experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • See patients for routine gynecological care and annual wellness visits.
  • Provide problem-focused care for both acute and chronic women’s health concerns.
  • Perform, or be trained to perform, IUD and Nexplanon insertions.
  • Participate in a wide range of in-office procedures (biopsies, colposcopies, LEEP’s, ablations, D&C).
  • Support physicians by focusing on pre- and post-operative patient visits.
  • Review and discuss test results (labs, cultures, imaging, pathology) with patients.
  • Minimal call coverage – always with an MD available for backup.
