NP/PA Gastroenterology
About The Position
MercyOne Northeast Iowa is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team serving the Waterloo and Cedar Falls communities. This is primarily an outpatient clinic role with the opportunity for inpatient consults, depending on experience and interests. The role involves supporting the care of patients with a wide range of GI conditions and offers the chance to assist with procedures and pre/post-procedure care. The position includes a strong onboarding program with mentorship and ongoing training, and a Monday-Friday schedule focused on work-life balance with limited or shared call expectations.
Requirements
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (FNP or AGNP) or Physician Assistant
- Eligible for Iowa licensure
- Strong communication and team-based care skills
Nice To Haves
- GI experience preferred
- New graduates with strong interest in GI are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with gastrointestinal conditions
- Provide patient education and follow-up care
- Collaborate closely with gastroenterologists and care team
- Participate in care coordination and quality improvement initiatives
- Document care in the EMR system (Epic, if applicable)
