Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Gastroenterology Clinic - Worcester, MA
About The Position
UMass Memorial Health is seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their expanding Gastroenterology team. This is a 100% outpatient ambulatory role with a focus on General GI. The position offers a collaborative, academic environment with opportunities for professional growth and education, including regular GI-focused conferences and CME opportunities. The role allows for the development of a clinical practice centered on General GI plus an area of specific interest, resulting in a manageable patient panel. The patient population consists of adult patients with general GI and IBD-related concerns. After ramp-up, the expected patient volume is approximately 16 patients booked per day, with an expected seen volume of 12 or 13 per day.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP or PA program
- NP or PA certification
- Massachusetts NP or PA license
- Prior experience in Gastroenterology or ambulatory care setting
- Strong communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills
- 2 years of APP experience
Responsibilities
- Provide care to adult patients with general GI and IBD-related concerns.
- Participate in regular GI-focused conferences.
- Develop a clinical practice centered on General GI plus an area of specific interest.
- Manage a patient panel.
- Conduct 8 clinical sessions and 2 administrative sessions weekly.
