About The Position

Sutter Medical Group is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join its Virtualist Program. This remote role combines virtual patient care with structured inbox support for primary care clinicians. The position is approximately 70% virtual patient care and 30% primary care inbox support, and offers the opportunity to help build and shape a new virtual care model. Virtualist APCs provide virtual patient visits; evaluate, diagnose, treat, educate, and counsel patients in a virtual environment; and determine when escalation or in-person evaluation is appropriate. They also provide structured inbox coverage, support continuity of care and timely communication, collaborate across clinical and operational teams, and participate in workflow development, quality improvement, and program growth. The program aims to improve patient access, reduce the burden on primary care teams, and develop a scalable model of virtual care. Team members will help shape program workflows, quality standards, and future service offerings. Sutter Medical Group is a multi-specialty group of more than 1,600 clinicians practicing in seven Northern California counties, most within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento.
