OB/GYN of Indiana is expanding to a new location in Broad Ripple and is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (APRN) with experience in Women's Health for their practice office in Indianapolis, IN. The practice has a 9-provider team consisting of 7 Physicians and 2 NPs. The Nurse Practitioner will see an average of 25 patients per day and will be scheduled at the Indianapolis Broad Ripple Office. This role offers NO EVENING HOURS & NO WEEKENDS. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will provide comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan, focusing on reproductive health, gynecological issues, family planning, and wellness promotion. The role involves practicing under standard procedures established for the Nurse Practitioner role, consistent with company policy and legal requirements. Key duties include conducting age-appropriate assessments, performing routine physical examinations (including pelvic exams, breast exams, PAP tests, and infection screenings), performing IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, Endometrial Biopsies, and working with Pessaries (education & maintenance). There is a possibility of performing Colposcopies. The role also includes educating patients on women’s issues, preventative care, contraceptive methods, and lifestyle modifications. The Nurse Practitioner will order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications within their scope of practice, and provide expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition. This involves managing symptoms, educating patients on treatment options, offering lifestyle advice, and supporting overall well-being with evidence-based care. The position requires conferring with patients, collaborating with others in the department for smooth patient care flow, and participating in the coordination of patient care. The role involves ongoing systematic assessment and data collection, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy. Consultation with supervising physicians or other clinicians will be necessary based on patient needs. The Nurse Practitioner will participate with physicians and other clinicians in ensuring effective patient care consistent with quality indicators. Reviewing medical records for follow-up or ordering diagnostic studies under established protocols is also part of the role. Establishing effective working relationships with the healthcare team, patients, and families is crucial. The role requires demonstrating knowledge of and applying safety principles, performing efficiently in emergency situations, and demonstrating knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management. A service philosophy in all interactions is expected, along with proficiency in using computers and telecommunication modalities for documentation and information conveyance.
